Addressing the Barriers of Access to Mental Health Care

Across the United States, many people face barriers to access the mental health services that they need. Sven Dethlefs, PhD, Executive Vice President, North America Commercial, discusses the current ways in which Teva is doing its part to support access to mental health care.

More than 5.5 million adults with a mental illness are uninsured in the United States. And those living with mental health issues often face often face barriers to accessing care and support. Solving this problem requires action from all of us, and Teva is committed to supporting access with a patient centric approach. That's why in 2022, Teva partnered with Direct Relief and the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics to help improve access to medicines and care for those suffering from anxiety and depression in underserved communities. “Community Routes: Access To Mental Health Care” provides access to a portfolio of donated medicines for anxiety and depression to free and charitable clinics across ten states. It also includes grant funding to select clinics to advance access to behavioral health services. Regardless of where you live or your socioeconomic status, having access to quality care for mental health or any other condition.

 

At Teva, we are committed to helping people living with mental health issues, who face barriers to accessing care and support. In 2022, we partnered with Direct Relief and the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics (NAFC) to help improve care and access in underserved communities. Our initiative includes providing a portfolio of donated medicines for depression and anxiety across ten states, as well as grant funding to select clinics to advance access to behavioral health services.
